Beauty Cast’s The Holiday Collection DVD Review
December 14th, 2007
I recieved The Holiday Collection Volume 1 DVD from Beauty Cast to review about a week ago.
I’ve seen a lot of makeup tutorial’s and I’m really impressed with this one.
The camera had close up shots of the parts of the face that were being worked on, so I could see exactly where the makeup artist started using a color, where she stopped, how she was holding the brush, and how she was moving the brush, which made it really easy for me to understand how to recreate the look.
I also loved that the DVD used real people - with wrinkles and all, instead of using “perfect” looking models.
I also learned a few things that I didn’t know before, like that you could use a fan brush to whisk away powdered eyeshadow fallout without smearing the shadow into your foundation. I’ll definitely be trying that trick soon.
I really enjoyed The Holiday Collection, and the next time I need some makeup inspiration I’ll be pulling it out again.
Go Glam Instead of Ghoul with Help from Beautycast this Halloween Sept. 2007 review of The Halloween Collection Vol. 1 DVD
When today’s DVD first came to my attention, I must admit a bit of skepticism. In the past, whenever I thought Halloween Makeup, visions of foam latex appliances and bloody open wounds came to mind. I never really considered that Halloween costumes could be glamorous, but I decided to put aside my bias toward the gruesome to give it some real consideration. Some of the most recognizable icons of Halloween aren’t just named Freddy and Jason, but also Elvira and even Cydey Neil of the famous Rocky Point Haunted House in Utah. Of course my wife, who is working at Spirit Halloween this season, has told me that the top selling costumes really are the sultry, sexy ones that grace the adult aisles. I never would have guessed.
So, with a new grip on the facts I sat down to watch the two DVD’s of volume 1 of Beautycast’s “The Halloween Collection”. Contained on these DVD’s are 13 hot looks for 13 of this year’s most popular costumes.
1. Genie
2. Elmira
3. Bodacious Bunny
4. Pink Pirate
5. Blue Buccaneer
6. Dark Fairy
7. Good Fairy
8. Mod Rocker
9. Marilyn
10. BC Girl
11. Vampiress
12. Referee
13. Firewoman
Beautycast’s Host Tara Heats Up the Night In Volume 1 of The Halloween Collection
Each look is a self-contained issue that is approximately 12 minutes long that goes into very vivid detail on what brushes to use, what makeup to use, layering techniques, and tailoring the makeup to your face. All the makeup described in the 200 minute DVD can be found wherever you happen to shop for regular women’s makeup - most likely it will be in or near any store that you buy that vampiress or Marilyn Monroe costume so you won’t have to do any special ordering of theatrical makeup. Now I personally happen to have in my DVD collection several horror and Halloween makeup DVD’s that detail how to apply latex prosthetics and all the other creepy stuff, but after viewing this DVD from Beautycast I must admit that there was a gap in my knowledge. Not everyone wants to be a corpse for Halloween, and in fact not all of your characters in your haunts should be unrecognizable as humans. Quite often the best spokesperson for a haunted house is a Dark Fairy or a Hot Pirate Wench. Trust me - the guys 18-34 who are a huge part of any haunt’s target audience will agree.
“The Halloween Collection” is definitely worth the paltry price of $14.95, and can be had from www.beautycast.biz. One thing I really liked about this DVD is that all of the women who have the makeups done on them start out as normal women. None of them are the already perfect model types, but that’s not to say any of them are Quasi Modo either. These are all normal looking women with beauty and flaws, and the makeup techniques used really accentuate each woman’s own features letting the inner glamorous creature of the night out. Any woman, and indeed anyone doing makeup on people for Halloween parties, haunted houses, theater, etc. will benefit from seeing up close the professional techniques used in this collection. Be sure to check out the promotional video I posted above, and then head off to the Beautycast site to get your own “The Halloween Collection”.

Comments on The Holiday Collection DVD from customer Samantha Vang
Hi Barbara and the crews. I just wanted to say that I had finally rec'd my package today. For a moment, i thought i wasn't going to get the package due to i may be moving soon to another house and wanted to get my package before i move. Thank goodness i got the package so now i'm not quite worried. I was so excited to see what i have with the package. I have to say, I love everything about beautycastbabe dvds and the rest of the products. The dvds were so helpful and with lots of tips, i learned so much from it. I thank you so much for the kind and greatest services you all have given me. Keep up the good work and tips. I am looking fwd to seeing more of the new looks on beautycastbabe.com and will buy more later. I'm really happy. Both dvds were worth watching and worth the money. I'd enjoy watching the looks of both halloween and holiday dvds. Thank you so much for your tips on makeup and looks. Most of all, I wanted to thank pursebuzz.com. If it wasn't for pursebuzz.com, I don't think I would have known anything about beautycastbabe.com. I barely knew pursebuzz.com for a little over a month now and saw the post up on pursebuzz.com about beautycastbabe.com. It got me very excited and knew it was okay to order your dvds. I don't order anything that I haven't heard of or seen before but i trusted pursebuzz.com due to I go on there everyday. It made me feel more confident to trust pursebuzz.com in whatever they post up on their site. So the moment they post up beautycastbabe.com on their site, i was able to go ahead and trust myself and make my orders and now i know the results. I'm more than happy with the services you all gave me and now, i can play with my makeup and share it with everyone around me and hopefully they can make their orders as well. I hope my feedbacks will help your products and company to be successful. =0) GOD Bless you all.
thank you,

Barbara: your wedding eye make up video is really good...I especially
like the way you show the tools and the colors/products used so others
can re-create the look. Good

BeautyCast Videos for DIY "making up" on a Bride's Special Day
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if that's true
(and it is), a video is priceless! The BeautyCast Bridal Collection
DVD Volumes 1 and 2 will give you all the tools you need to do your
makeup like a professional makeup artist. Created by talented makeup
artist Barbara Siragusa, Beauty Cast DVDs offer lots different
makeup looks especially for brides and others significant to her
wedding party such as her attendants, and mothers of the couple.
Volume 1 offers seven makeup looks for a traditional, white wedding.
Volume 2 offers ideas five different looks for a "fantasy" wedding.
What's really wonderful about these videos is the ability to see a
makeup artist work in close-up on eyes, lips, cheeks. The dvd
clearly shows the colors used, the brushes used (and why that brush
is important), the techniques to apply everything, and then, a final
"reveal." You can learn so much about application, color choice, and
blending from watching these whether you're a bride looking for DIY
on your special day, or you just want to finally understand what
makeup artists are doing when they're applying full makeup on your
face (no, a chart from the department store makeup counter isn't
going to really help you faithfully re-create a look that an expert
has created). I also like the idea that Ms Siragusa has chosen
models of all ages, skin types, and ethnicities. These women do not
look like supermodels, they look like average women who want
dramatic makeup for a special occasion...and I love this!
The looks are not everyday makeup. They are complicated and require
a lot of practice to accomplish (so get the videos well in advance
if you're really going to try and re-create the looks for a special
occasion). In some cases, we counted more than 16 different products
and colors used on the eyes alone. It's just too much makeup for
most women, even if it's done by a professional makeup artist. On
the other hand, if it's just too challenging for you, take the looks
and tone them down to create a glamorous vision of the original. The
focus is all on the eyes and lips...no foundation or concealer
techniques are shown, and the lips are all very dramatic. I
personally wouldn't suggest red lips for a wedding day as in one of
the looks from the Fantasy Wedding collection. A bride does way too
much kissing on her special day to use a dark lipstick, and hope it
won't smear. False eyelashes are also used in most of the looks.
That's ok if you like them, but on a wedding day, I think they are
impractical (brides cry, and lashes get loose). Again, you can pick
and choose what parts of the look you want. I really enjoyed
watching the videos. They were instructive, entertaining, and well
produced. Don't wait to say "I do" to check them out -

"I personally have sat through both of the bridal DVDs and there is a world of information in each of them.. I LOVE IT."
Review from mineral makeup
We are proud to offer this edition of The Halloween Collection. The
video is well shot with a close range continued shot of the eye and
the tools used to achieve each look. Easy to understand and follow.
Don't let the Halloween name scare you. These are all glamorous looks
that could be used for actors, dancers, and performers of all types.
We were even able to tone down most looks to use for everyday.
Each look is a self contained issue that is approximately 12 minutes
long, that goes into very vivid detail on what brushes to use, what
color makeup to use, layering techniques, and tailoring the makeup to
your face.
The video is not brand specific, and we are happy to supply a list of
our colors to help you achieve each look on the video.
One thing I really liked about this DVD, is that all of the women who
have the makeup done on them, start out as normal women. None of them
are the already perfect model types, but are normal everyday women.
These are all normal looking women with beauty and flaws, and the
makeup techniques used really accentuate each woman's own features,
letting the inner glamorous creature of the night out. Any woman, and
indeed anyone doing makeup on people for Halloween parties, haunted
houses, theater, stage or performance will benefit from seeing up
close the professional techniques used in this collection.
